About our Shop We are located in Historic Duncans Mills. Our building was constructed as a loggers cabin in 1877 and is the oldest in town. It has become a favorite destination for locals and visitors looking for friendly service in a beautiful and relaxed setting. Our shop is a part of the historic shopping village which was created decades ago from various historic properties. After sampling some great wines, like our locally produced favorite reds from Wild Hog Vineyards, you can shop at excellent art galleries, antique and specialty shops, then relax over dinner at one of our local restaurants!
Many visitors choose to convene at the old oak bar for a tasting of the day's selection of local wines, with some conversation and recommendations on places to eat and stay while in town. Or you may decide to enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese plate while sitting outside on our deck. A little time spent soaking up the sun with some Sonoma County wine and cheese is restorative and relaxing.
On cold days you will want to linger by the fire, perhaps with a glass of port or dessert wine. You're welcome to stay a while read or play backgammon or cribbage or catch up on local news and events.

In a hurry to go home or back to your vacation home or lodge? Then select a bottle of wine and some cheese to go. We offer wine glasses, corkscrews and even hand-rolled beeswax candles for a romantic evening. If you're planning to go for a hike or a picnic we have all the basics you'll need. About Sonoma County Sonoma County is home to astonishing geography, landscape and climate. Beginning at the Pacific Ocean with its rocky cliffs and sandy beaches, the county rolls eastward up coastal mountains of dense redwoods, then inland to gently inclining grassy hills and valleys dotted with stately oaks and fragrant bay trees. The Mayacamas Mountains rise up east of Santa Rosa as the demarcation between the Sonoma and Napa Valley. The topography of the county creates multiple climate zones. Redwood trees soak up coastal moisture from the fog spilling off the ocean along the Sonoma Coast. The fog flows through the gaps in the coastal range, bringing a welcome coolness during the long dry season. Inland, the hills impede the fog, creating microclimates which allow an great variety of crops and animals to thrive. This amazing variation creates the perfect conditions for Sonoma County wines, known the world over: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay thrive in the cool fog-laden zones, Zinfandel and Syrah grapes soak the valley heat and Cabernet develops its full bodied tannins from the higher inland mountains. The county is home to agricultural families whose ancestors settled in the county during the nineteenth century as well as newcomers who bring culinary secrets from other towns, states and countries. The rich soil, mild climate and expertise of the farmers have created culinary products that are recognized the world over. in addition to fabulous wines you will find that rich olive oils, mouthwatering farmstead cheeses, artisan meats, fresh fruit and savory vegetables grace the markets, farmstands and dinner tables everywhere. |
